Ingredients
- 2 Tblsp butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- Optional: mushrooms, water chestnuts, bok choy, green or red pepper
- 1-1/2 cups long grain rice
- 1-1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1-1/2 cups beef broth
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Preparation
Step 1
Melt butter in a saucepan and sauté the onions until they are transparent. If you choose to add mushrooms or other vegetables, sautéth em now. Add the rice and the vegetables to the onions.
Add the broth to the rice mixture and bring to a boil. Cover the pot and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until all the liquid is absorbed.
this can be microwaved or reheated before serving.
