Salisbury steak with mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg - beaten
  • 1/4 onion finely chopped
  • 7 saltine crackers - crushed
  • salt & pepper
  • 3 TBS butter
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 3 TBS flour
  • chopped parsley

Preparation

Step 1

Mix beef, egg,onion, crackers, s&p in a bowl - divide into patties

heat 1 TBS butter in skillet - brown patties (4 mins each side) - transfer to plate

add 1 TBS butter to skillet and cook mushrooms til brown about 2 mins. - stir in worcestershire sauce s&p

sprinkle in flour, stir then stir in 2 1/2 cups hot water and simmer until sauce thickens - add remaining TBS butter - stir

return patties and any remaining juices to skillet - simmer until sauce thickens and meat is cooked - sprinkle with parsley

serve with egg noodles
