The Best-Ever Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks Imperial margarine, softened
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 + teaspoon vanilla (to taste)
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon tsalt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Cream together the margarine and the sugars. Add the eggs, one at a time so that they are thoroughly mixed in. Add vanilla and mix together.

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda and salt. Then, with mixer running, add a little bit of the flour mixture to the sugar mixture. Make sure the flour is mixed in well before adding more each time. When all the flour mixture is added and mixed in, add the chocolate chips and walnuts. Stir together with a spoon.

Drop a spoonful of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet or one lined with parchment paper to make each cookie. Bake for 8-10 minutes.

NOTE: Do not over bake! These will look a little pale when you take them out of the oven, but once they cool, they'll be soft and yummy!
