Ingredients

  • 3 C flour
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 3/4 C apple cider
  • 1/2 sour cream
  • 2/3 C packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 t butter
  • 1 T ground ginger
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1/2 C sugar
  • 1 t cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Coat doughnut maker or doughnut pans with cooking spray. If using a doughnut mold pan, heat oven to 325.

In large bowl whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.

In small bowl whisk apple cider, sour cream, brown sugar, eggs, butter, ginger and vanilla until smooth.

Mix both the dry and wet mixtures together until smooth.

Fill prepared doughnut maker or doughnut tins 2/3rds full and bake 13-15 minutes or until golden brown and bounce back when gently touched.

Remove to a wire rack to cool.

Mix the cinnamon and sugar together in small bowl. While still warm you may brush with additional cider or a bit of cream or butter then dip into the cinnamon and sugar to coat.
