Chocolate Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter, at room temperature
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk or half and half
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat the oven to 325°F. Grease and flour a 12-cup Bundt pan.

2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, milk and vanilla; mix well.

3. Mix in all of the remaining ingredients. spoon into the prepared pan.

4. Bake for 90 to 95 minutes or until a tester inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan. Remove from the pan; cool completely on a wire rack. If desired, dust with powdered sugar.
