Ingredients
- 2- 16 oz cans water packed cherries
- 8 cups water
- 1 stick butter
- 4 cups sugar

Preparation
Step 1
In a large pot, bring cherries, water and sugar to a boil. Add the butter after everything boils and let it melt before adding the dumplings.
DUMPLINGS
Use your favorite pie crust recipe (for 2 crust pie)
OR
2 cups flour mixed with 1 teaspoon salt
cut in 2/3 cup of shortening
Add 1 Tab at a time and stir with a fork. Stir in 1/3 cup cold water.
Roll out 1/8th inch thick and cut into 1 inch squares. Drop into boiling mixture. Cook 55 minutes or until dumplings are tender.
This is a double batch.
