BROWNIE PUDDING

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 4 tbsp. cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 tbsp. melted butter
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 3 1/2 cups hot water*

Preheat oven to 350°. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder together. Add the milk, vanilla, and melted butter. Stir until smooth. Add nuts and spread into a greased 9x13 baking pan.
In a separate bowl mix the brown sugar and remaining one-half cup cocoa powder together and sprinkle over batter. Put the pan on the rack in the oven and pour the hot water over the top of the cocoa/brown sugar mixture. Gently slide the rack into the oven being careful not to spill the water. Bake for 60 minutes (this makes a brownie-like mixture on top and chocolate pudding on the bottom). Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
*Up to a half cup additional water may be added if you want more pudding on the bottom.
