Ingredients

  • 1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 (1 1/4-pound) round steak
  • 1 large green bell pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 12 large cherry tomatoes

Step 1

Combine salad dressing mix, vinegar, water and chili powder in a jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake well. Add the orange juice and vegetable oil; shake well. Cut steak into 1-inch cubes. Arrange in a shallow dish. Pour three-fourths of the marinade over the steak, reserving the remaining marinade in the jar. Chill the steak, covered, for 8 to 24 hours. Preheat the grill to medium-high. Cut bell pepper into 1-inch pieces. Cut onion into 12 wedges. Remove the steak from the marinade. Alternate steak, bell pepper, tomatoes and onion on 4 skewers. Grill 4 to 6 inches from heat for 4 to 5 minutes on each side, brushing frequently with the reserved marinade.
