Bananas Foster

Ingredients

  • 6 T. butter
  • 2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 6 yellow bananas
  • 1 ounce (2 T.) banana liqueur
  • 1 ounce Myer's Rum
  • 1 ounce Bacardi rum
  • 6 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • ground cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

1. Melt butter and brown sugar in a skillet or chafing dish. Peel bananas and slice into butter sauce. Cook about 2 minutes over high heat, stirring and turning the banana slices.
2. Add the banana liqueur and both rums; ignite carefully with a long-handled match. Scoop ice cream into dessert dishes. Spoon sauce over ice cream. Sprinkle a little cinnamon over each serving.
