Ingredients

  • 1 1/2-2 lbs Round Steak (cut into 1 inch strips)
  • 1 Garlic Clove (crushed)
  • 1 Cup Chopped Onion
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Ginger
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 Green Peppers (cut into thin strips)
  • 4 Tomatoes (cut into thin strips) or 1-1 lb Can Tomatoes
  • 1-1 lb Can Bean Sprouts (drained)
  • 1 Tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1/2 Cup Cold Water

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat kettle on stove over medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Add steak and brown (about 10 minutes). Place kettle on base. Combine garlic, onion, salt, pepper, ginger, sugar, and soy sauce and pour over meat. Cover and simmer at setting #3 for 4 hours. One hour before serving, add green pepper, tomato, and bean sprouts. To thicken liquid, increase setting to #5. Combine cornstarch and water. Stir into liquid and let thicken. Keep warm for serving at setting #2.
