5 hour beef stew

Ingredients

  • 2-3 lbs beef cubes (chuck)
  • 2 cans chopped tomatoes partially drained
  • 6 carrots quartered or baby carrots
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 3 medium onions quartered ( Add small red potatoes if you like)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 3 tbsp minute tapioca
  • 1 can drained sliced chestnuts
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 cup red wine (optional but adds flavor)

Preparation

Step 1

Mix altogether, place in a casserole. Bake at 250° for 5 hours
