Ingredients

  • Marinating Ingredients:
  • 1 (3 pound) top round London broil (about 1 1/4 inches thick)
  • 7/8 cup teriyaki marinade
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple
  • 2 tablespoons maraschino cherry juice
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons minced ginger
  • Glazing Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/8 cup teriyaki marinade

Preparation

Step 1

Combine marinating ingredients in a blender until smooth.

Glaze:Combine 2 tablespoons cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water. In a small saucepan, add 1/8 cup marinade with cornstarch mixture and simmer until thickened. Set aside.

Trim excess fat from steak. Using a fork, pierce lightly the entire steak on both sides. Place steak and marinade in a clear heavy-duty plastic bag. Press out excess air, seal and place in a baking dish.

Refrigerate for about 1 hour. Turn every 20 minutes for even marinating. Remove steak from marinade and drain. Grill steak for 7 to 9 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Add 2 minutes per side for medium and 4 minutes for well done. When done, let stand for about 10 minutes.

Preparation: Slice steak very thin on an angle, about 45 degrees across grain of meat. Drizzle Glaze over slice and serve.

Suggested side dishes: String beans with slivered almonds, salted baked potatoes.
