Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 15x10x1-inch jelly-roll pan with no-stick cooking spray; set aside.

Combine 1 cup butter, sugar and brown sugar in large bowl; beat at medium speed until creamy. Add eggs and 2 teaspoons vanilla; continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low; add all remaining bar ingredients except apples and pecans. Beat until well mixed (mixture will be very thick). Stir in apples and pecans.

Spread batter evenly into prepared pan. Bake for 28 to 33 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.

Melt 1/2 cup butter in 1-quart saucepan over medium heat. Continue cooking, stirring constantly and watching closely, until butter just starts to turn golden (5 to 6 minutes). Remove from heat. Cool completely.

Combine browned butter, powdered sugar and vanilla in medium bowl. Beat at medium speed, gradually adding enough half & half for desired spreading consistency. Spread frosting over cooled bars.
