Ingredients
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1-1/2 cups fresh or frozen boysenberries
- 1/2 teaspoon finely shredded lemon peel
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Preparation
Step 1
In small saucepan combine the water and sugar. Bring to boiling, remove from heat. Cool, chill. In a blender container or food processor bowl place the berries. Cover and blend till smooth. Press the berries through a sieve to remove seeds.
Combine the chilled sugar mixture, sieved berries, lemon peel, and juice, stir till well blended. Turn into an 8x4x2 inch loaf pan, cover and freeze till almost firm. Break the mixture into chunks, turn into a chilled mixer bowl. Beat with an electric mixer till smooth. Return to a cold pan, cover and freeze until firm. Let stand at room temperature 5 minutes before serving. Make about 1 pint sorbet.
