Cooked Strawberry Freezer Jam

Ingredients

  • 4 C sliced strawberries, hulled
  • 2 C granulated sugar
  • 2 C granulated sugar
  • 2 T lemon juice, fresh or bottles

Preparation

Step 1

Place strawberries in large pot. Cover with first amount of sugar. Heat and stir on high until it comes to a full rolling boil, Boil hard for 3 minutes, stirring continually.

Add remaining sugar. Return to a boil, stirring continually. Boil hard for 3 more minutes while continuing to stir. Remove from heat.

Add lemon juice. Stir and skim off foam. Cool. Fill freezer containers leaving at least 1 inch at top for expansion. Cover with a tight fitting lid. Let stand on counter 24 hours to set. Freeze.
