Ingredients

  • 1 (2 1/2 pound) chicken
  • 1 (8 count)package flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Rinse chicken and pat dry.

Cook in water to cover in large pan until tender. Remove chicken, reserving broth; bone chicken.

Cut tortillas into bite-sized pieces. Drop into boiling broth in saucepan.

Add butter, salt and pepper. Cook until tortillas are very tender.

Add chicken.

Blend flour and milk in small bowl or covered jar. Stir into saucepan.

Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
