Puerto Rican Pinto Beans #3

Ingredients

  • 1 small uncooked, onion
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup canned tomato sauce
  • 16 oz canned pinto beans
  • 1/2 cup water, 1/2 of can

Preparation

Step 1

Fry onions and minced garlic in olive oil. Stir in salt and pepper. Blend in tomato sauce. Let simmer for 2 min. Add beans (do not drain) and 1/2 cup water. Stir and let boil. Turn to simmer for 1 hr. After 1/2 hr. stir again. If sauce too thick add a little more water.
