Ingredients

  • Sauce:
  • 1 12 oz bag frozen berries, your choice
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Waffles:
  • 3 oz chocolate, finely chopped
  • 4 Tbs butter, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 lg eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 6 Tbs flour
  • 2 Tbs cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • vanilla ice cream
  • fresh berries for garnish

Preparation

Step 1

1. Sauce: Puree berries, sugar & lemon juice in.
2. Waffles: Heat waffle iron.
3. Combine chocolate & butter & microwave on high 1 - 2 minutes until just melted. Whisk until smooth.
4. In lg bowl, whisk sugar, eggs, vanilla & milk. Whisk in melted chocolate mixture. Stir in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder & salt until smooth.
5. Ladle batter into iron. Cook until done. Cut out heart shapes, top with a scoop of ice cream, drizzle with sauce, and garnish with berries. Serve immediately.
