  • 2 lge cans crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans tomato paste, dissolved in water
  • 1 large onion, chopped fine
  • 6 cloves garlic,crushed
  • 1/8-1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1/8-1/4 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley
  • 3 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2-3 beef boullion cubes
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1/8 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large container Swansons beef broth
  • 1 piece cinammon stick
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 4-5 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 lb butter

Preparation

Step 1

IN LARGE POT, SAUTE ONION IN OIL AND BUTTER.
ADD CRUSHED GARLIC AND SAUTE
ADD GROUND BEEF AND PORK, COOK TIL BROWN.
DRAIN OFF LIQUID
ADD WINE AND COOK FEW MINUTES TIL LIQUID
REDUCED
ADD TOMATOES,TOMATO PASTE, AND 2 LGE CANS OF
BEEF BROTH,BASIL, PARSLEY, ITALIAN SEASONING
CINAMMON STICK, AND BOUILLON CUBES, SALT
AND PEPPER
BRING TO A BOIL, THEN LOWER HEAT AND LOW BOIL
FOR 3 HOURS.STIR OCCASIONALLY, MAY ADD
CHEESE AND SUGAR LAST 1/2 HOUR. MAY ADD
MORE BEEF BROTH IF NEEDED.
