  • to find if I double this it makes a better pie. Below is just the regular and you know how to double, use two.
  • 3/4 3/4 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 1/4 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 1/4 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 1/4 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 3 3 egg yolks
  • 1 1 1 cup canned milk
  • 1 1 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 2 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 1 1 tsp vanilla

Step 1

Mix sugar, cocoa, flour and salt together in a saucepan. Add the egg yolks and milk and blend well with a wire whisk.(Save the whites if you want meringue. I like cool whip or even better whipping cream)

Cook over medium heat while stirring. This will take some to cook until this mixture thickens. When thickened remove from heat and add margarine and vanilla.

Pour into the baked pie shell.

Meringue: I can never make this right

3 egg whites

¼ tsp cream of tartar

1/3 cup sugar

Using electric mixer with grease free beaters and a cool bowl, beat egg whites until foamy. Add the cream of tartar and continue beating until soft peaks form. Add the sugar gradually and beat until peaks are stiff but not dry. Spread the meringue over the chocolate filling. Bake 375 degree oven until lightly browned
