Ingredients

  • 3 3/4

    cups sugar

  • 1 1/2

    cups Karo light corn syrup

  • 1

    cup water

  • 1

    tsp oil

  • Food coloring

  • Powdered sugar

Directions

1. Sprinkle 18X24" strip of heavy duty alluminum foil with some powdered sugar. 2. Mix sugar, corn syrup, and water in a large heavy saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Boil, without stirring, until temperature reaches 310F or until drops of syrup forms a hard and brittle thread in cold water. 3. Remove from heat. Stir in oil and coloring. Pour onto foil. Cool. Break into pieces. Store in air tight container.
