Ingredients

  • Rub:

  • 2

    tbsp paprika

    tbsp chili powder

  • 1

    tbsp salt

  • ½

    tbsp cumin

  • 1

    tsp pepper

  • 1

    tsp cayenne

  • 4

    tbsp brown sugar

  • ½

    tsp cloves

  • ¼

    cup red wine vinegar

  • cup worcestershire

  • Sauce:

  • 2

    tbsp veg. oil

  • 1

    chopped onion

  • 4

    minced garlic cloves

  • 1

    tbsp each paprika and chili

  • 1

    tsp each salt and pepper

  • 1

    19 oz can tomatoes

  • 1

    5½ oz. tomato paste

  • cup vinegar

  • cup brown sugar

  • 2

    tbsp dijon

  • ½

    cup molasses

Directions

1. Boil ribs with a carrot, onion, and celery about 45 min. 2. Allow to cool, then brush with rub mixture and leave at least 30 min. or overnight, refrigerated. When ready to grill, brush with sauce and cook about 10 min. per side. For sauce: Saute onion and garlic about 5 min. Add spices, cook 2 min. Add tomatoes, paste, vigegar, sugar and mustard. Bring to boil, then reduce and simmer about 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Cool, then puree and add molasses. Set aside one cup for dipping.
