Applesauce (Virginia's)

Ingredients

  • 15-20 Apples
  • 4 qt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 8 qt
  • 1 cup water
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 white sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Peel and thinly slice enough apples to fill the pan to overflowing. Add water and cover with lid. Cook over low heat, stirring from bottom up about every 5 minutes. Continue cooking until apples are soft. Turn off heat. Add sugars and cinnamon, stirring thoroughly. Allow to cool. After cooling, put into a food processor and process to desired consistency. Spoon into containers to store. Can freeze.
