Ingredients
- 1 pound ground round
- 1 1/2 cups chopped onion (about 1 large)
- 1 cup chopped green bell pepper (about 1 medium)
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 (16 oz) cans navy beans, drained
- 1 (15 1/4 oz) can lima beans, drained
- 2 (14 1/2 oz) cans no salt added diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 TB salt free barbecue spice such as The Spice Hunter
Preparation
Step 1
Cook ground round in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat until browned, stirring until it crumbles. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
Combine cooked beef and remaining 9 ingredients in a 4 1/2 qt electric slow cooker. Cover and cook on high setting for 1 hour. Reduce heat to low setting and cook 6 - 7 hours.
