Ingredients
- 1 large loaf french bread
- 8 eggs
- 3 cups milk
- 3/4 cup sugar, divided
- 1 T vanilla
- 5 apples
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 T butter
Preparation
Step 1
Spray 9x13 pan with Pam. Slice bread into 1 1/2 inch slices. Place bread tightly together in one layer. Place eggs in bowl and beat lightly. Add milk, 1/4 cup sugar and vanilla. Mix well. Pour 1/2 liquid over bread. Peel, core and slice apples. Cut and place apples on top of bread. Pour remaining egg mixture over apples. Mix remaining 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples. Top with pecans and dot with butter. Bake 35 minutes at 400. Serve with maple syrup.
Prepare the night before, cover and refrigerate. Bake for 50-60 minutes.
