Ale Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm beer or ginger ale
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1-1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3-3 1/4 cups bread flour
  • 2-1/4 tsp. yeast

Preparation

Step 1

Place in machine according to manufacturer's instructions. Makes 1-1/2 lb. loaf.


MY NOTES:
I made this in my bread machine on the DOUGH cycle, using beer, and then divided it into 2 free-standing oval loaves and baked them at 350º for about 25-30 minutes. Jack raved about how good it was and the leftovers made great sandwiches for his lunches! The bread was very soft and tender. This recipe is a keeper!
