Chicken and rice with mushroom gravy

  • 1-2 # bone in chicken pieces
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 1 C instant rice
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 the empty soup can of milk
  • 1 small can of mushrooms or 1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms optional
  • cooking spray

Step 1

preheat oven to 350. Spray a baking dish with cooking spray then spread rice over the bottom. Lay chicken over the rice and sprinkle with the onion soup. In separate bowl combine the soup, mushrooms and milk. Pour over the chicken and bake for 1-1.5 hours or until the rice is tender and the chicken no longer pink. Baking time will increase and decrease based on the thickness of the chicken.
