Ingredients
- Parchment paper
- 4 tbsp corn syrup
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp chinese five-spice powder
- 1/8 tsp ground cumin
- Up to 1 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
- 2 cups mixed nuts.
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F. Line a cookie sheet with greased parchment paper. In a bowl, combine corn syrup, sugar, worcestershire sauce, cayenne, five-spice powder, cumin and enough orange juice to blend;the mixture will be thick. Add nuts, mixing gently to coat.
Bake for 5 minutes, then stir to coat. Bake 10 minutes longer, or until bubbly.
Immediately turn the nuts onto a sheet of parchment paper, as the coating hardens quickly. Keep turing and separating until the nuts no longer stick to the parchment or each other; the nuts should be dooled individually, not clumped together.
