My Mom's Vegetable Beef Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 Soup Bone
  • 2 lbs Stew Meat
  • 3 onions, chopped
  • 8 pcs celery, chopped
  • 2 buds of garlic, minced
  • accent
  • season salt
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 8-10 carrots sliced thin
  • 8-10 potatoes diced
  • 1/2 to 3/4 head of cabbage, shredded
  • 2 med or 1 lg can of tomatoes
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup barley

Preparation

Step 1

Cook soup bone, stew meat, onions, celery, garlic, and seasonings in large stock pot till meat is done. Remove meat and soup bone to a bowl while vegetables start to cook. Add vegetables in the order listed. Let simmer a couple of hours. Return meat to to stock pot and continue to simmer an hour or so. The longer it cooks the better it is.
