German Plum Kuchen ( Fruit Tart)

  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, soften
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 4 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • Italian plums( can be called prune plums) about 15



Step 1

1.Mix all wet ingredients with the sugar. Whisk baking powder into flour, then add slowly to wet ingredients. You must use your hands to work flour in.
2. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for an hour. Press dough in a 10
inch springform. Cutplums into quarters and arrange so they all point the same way
3. bake for about 50 minutes at 350. Shortly before taking tart out, sprinkle top with a combination of cinnamon and sugar

NOTE: Serve plain or with vanilla ice cream
