Pressure Cooker Orange Pepper Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. beef round steaks, cut into 1/2 inch strips
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. beef base mixed into 1 cup orange juice
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 2 tsp. fresh orange zest
  • 3 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 white onion, peeled and sliced into 1/2 in wide strips
  • 1 red bell pepper, cored and sliced into 1/2 in wide strips
  • 1 green bell pepper, cored and sliced into 1/2 in wide strips

Step 1

1. Add the sesame oil and vegetable oil to the pressure cooker with heat on high or brown with the lid off.

2. Mix the salt and pepper into the flour and generously coat the beef strips.

3. Place beef strips in the pressure cooker and lightly brown on all sides.

4. Add the remaining ingredients, except the onion, green and red bell peppers and securely lock on the pressure cooker's lid. Set the cooker to high and cook for 8 minutes.

5. Perform a quick release to release the cooker's pressure. Safely remove lid and add the onion and peppers.

6. Securely lock the cooker's lid on and cook on high for an additional 4 minutes.

7. Perform a quick release to release the cooker's pressure.
