Ingredients
- 1-1/2 - pound beef brisket
- 1-1/4 cup Water
- 4 large tomato; sliced
- 4 cups cabbage; shredded
- 1 cup onion; chopped
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup flour
Preparation
Step 1
Place brisket in Dutch oven. Add 1 cup water and sliced tomatoes. Bring to
a boil, cover, reduce heat, and simmer 1 hour.
Saute cabbage and onions in oil until lightly browned. Stir in salt and
pepper. Add to meat. Simmer, partially covered, until meat is tender, 1 -
1-1/2 hours.
Remove meat and slice across grain; keep warm. Stir honey and lemon juice
into sauce. Blend together flour and remaining 1/4 cup water. Stir into
sauce and cook, stirring, until slightly thickened. Serve over meat.
