  • 1 package of Saltine crackers
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 12 oz chocolate chips
  • 1/2 - 1 cup pecans or walnuts



Step 1

Line a rectangular pan with aluminum foil. Lay 1 package of Saltine crackers in a single layer, end to end, covering the pan.

In a heavy saucepan, melt 2 sticks of butter. Add sugar and stir constantly until mixture comes to a full boil. Pour this evenly over the crackers.

Bake at 350^ for 15 minutes until browned and bubbling. Remove from oven.

Immediately cover with chocolate chips. Let stand 3 minutes. Smooth out the melted chocolate. Cover with chopped pecans or walnuts. Cool completely. Break into pieces.
