Ingredients
- 1/4 lb. country ham chips
- 1/4 lb. bacon
- 1 onion chopped
- 2-1/2 T. Better Than Bouillon Ham Base
- Smoked turkey neck or wing
- Nature's Seasoning Salt -- a couple of shakes
- 8 T. apple cider vinegar
- 3 T. liquid from Merzetti's hot & sweet Jalapeno pepper rings in vinegar
- 3-1/2 cups chicken broth
- 2 lbs. bag chopped collards
Preparation
Step 1
Brown bacon, country ham chips; then add onion and saute. Dissolve ham base in chicken broth, then add remaining ingredients except collards and bring to a med-high boil.
Slowly add collards pushing down into liquid, stirring well.
Cook, covered, for 2-2-1/2 hrs or until desired consistency.
