Apple Praline Bread
Easy Quick bread. Good for chilly days.
- For Praline sauce:
- 1 c sour cream
- 1 c brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 c flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 c Granny Smith apples, peeled and chopped
- 1 c nuts, pecans or walnuts, divided
- 1/4 c brown sugar
- 1/4 c butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9 x 5 x 3 inch stoneware or glass loaf pan.
With an electric mixer, beat sugar, sour cream, eggs and vanilla til smooth. Add dry ingredients and slowly mix til smooth.Fold in 1/2 of the nuts and apples. Pour into prepared loaf pan. Take remaining nuts and press into the top of the bread. Bake for 60 mins or til toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in pan for 20-30 mins. in pan.Thentransfer to a wire rack til completely cool.
For Praline sauce:
Place brown sugar and butter in a small sauce pan. Using medium heat bring sauce to a boil. Reduce to simmer and stir til sauce becomes thick. Remove from heat and drizzle over bread. Cool completely and serve.
