Buttercream Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup solid vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon clear vanilla
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Preparation

Step 1

1. Cream butter and shortening.
2. Add vanilla.
3. Gradually add powdered sugar, one cup at a time.
4. When sugar has been all mixed, icing will appear dry.
5. Add milk.
6. Beat until light and fluffy.
7. Cover with a damp cloth until ready to use.
