Snickerdoodles

Ingredients

  • 2-3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Shortening (soft, part butter); can use oil
  • 1-1/2 cups Sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoon Sugar
  • 4 teaspoon Cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Combine flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt and set aside.

Cream shortening with sugar. Add eggs. Blend in dry ingredients.

Roll into balls the size of a small walnut. Roll in sugar and cinnamon
mixture. Place 2 inches apart opon ungreased baking sheet. Bake until
lightly browned, but still soft. These cookies puff up at first, then
flatten out. Bake at 400°F for 8 minutes.
