Fudgy Bonbons

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 oz) pkg chocolate chips
  • 1/4 c butter or margarine
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 c flour
  • 1/2 c finely chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Hershey kisses("Truffle" type work best)
  • 2 oz white chocolate baking bar or vanilla candy coating
  • 1 tsp shortening (if using baking bar)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350.
In medium saucepan, combine chocolate chips and margarine.
Cook and stir over very low heat until melted and smooth.
Add sweetened condensed milk and mix well.
In a large bowl, add flour (lightly spooned and leveled), nuts, chocolate and butter mixture, and vanilla.
Mix well.
Shape 1 tbsp of dough around each Hershey kiss, covering completely.
Place 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for 6-8 minutes.
Do not overbake - they will get firm while cooling.
In small saucepan, combine baking bar and shortening.
Cook and stir over low heat until melted and smooth.
Drizzle over cooled cookies.
