Grilled Meat Loaves

By

“We thought Grandma was kidding when she said we were having grilled meat loaf for dinner. But it quickly became the new family favorite.”

Ingredients

  • 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable juice cocktail
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 teaspooons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion (about 1 small)
  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce, heated

Preparation

Step 1

Lightly spray a grill rack with nonstick cooking spray. Preheat grill to low heat.

Combine the bread crumbs, vegetable juice, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, egg, garlic salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Add the beef and onion. Mix well.

Divide and shape the mixture into 4 individual loaves. Place the loaves on the grill rack. Grill until browned, about 5 minutes.

Carefully turn the loaves over with a large spatula. Grill until browned, about 5 minutes longer. Turn over again. Grill until an instant-read meat thermometer inserted in the center of each loaf registers 170F, about 10 minutes more. Top with the marinara sauce and serve.
