Ingredients
- Optional:
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp ground coriander
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 small onion, peeled & separated
- 1 carrot, halved
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 medium sweet potato or yam, baked & quartered
- 1/2 green apple, seeded
- 2 cups chicken stock
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 2 3–4'' pieces of cooked ham, warmed
- 1/4 cup warm/hot cream
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- Minced chives, for garnish

Preparation
Step 1
First, heat olive oil in a sauté pan and add the coriander, cinnamon, onion, carrot, and garlic. Sauté until tender.
Next, place these ingredients into your Vitamix container in the following order: chicken stock, the sauté you made above, all of the potato/yam, apple, salt, and pepper. Secure lid.
Next, select Variable Speed 1, turn machine on, and slowly increase to Variable 10, and then High. Blend for 4–1/2 minutes or until heavy steam escapes from vented lid.
If using optional ingredients above:
Reduce speed to Variable 3 and remove lid plug. Add ham through lid plug opening and add cream and/or maple syrup if used. Blend for an additional 10–15 seconds.
