Ingredients

  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup Grand Marnier or Triple Sec (especially for fruit)
  • 1/4 cup Kahula (bananas)

Preparation

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar until pale yellow. Add cornstarch and continue to whisk until well mixed, then add milk. Transfer to a heavy bottomed saucepan or double boiler and place over medium heat. Stir the mixture constantly until the sauce is very thick, 1-2 minutes. Pour back into bowl and whisk in vanilla and 1/4 cup flavouring of your choice. Refrigerate.
