Thousand Island Dressing

Popular for many years, this creamy, slightly tangy dressing is best over very crisp greens.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Homemade Mayonnaise (recipe in collection) or purchased mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup tomato-based chili sauce
  • 2 tsp minced onion
  • 1 tbsp minced green bell pepper
  • 1 tbsp minced pimento
  • 2 tbsp sweet pickle relish
  • 1 hard-cooked egg, finely chopped
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Half-and-half (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Mix mayonnaise, chili sauce, onion, bell pepper, pimento, pickle relish, and egg until blended. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, thin with a little half-and-half. If made ahead, cover and refrigerate for up to a week.
