Poppy Seed Filling for Nut Roll

Makes enough for 2 or more rolls.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 pound poppy seeds, ground
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup apricot preserves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Put all ingredients, except vanilla, in saucepan and cook until very thick (up to 20 minutes). Let cool. Add vanilla. If too thick to spread, add more preserves.
