Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 2 c. sugar 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 c. flour 1 c. milk
  • 3/4 c. Hersheys cocoa 1/2 c. oil
  • 1 1/2 t baking powder 2 t vanilla
  • 1 1/2 t baking soda 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 t salt
  • Frosting:
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2/3 c. cocoa
  • 3 c. icing sugar
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 t vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Cake:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. combine dry ingredients in large bowl.
3. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla. Beat two minutes on medium speed.
4. Stir in boiling water. (batter will be thin)
5. Pour into two greased and floured pans (or use cocoa instead of flour).
6. Bake 30-35 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pans to wire rack and cool completely.



Frosting:

1. Melt butter.
2. stir in cocoa.
3. Alternately add icing sugar and milk on medium speed to spreading consistency. Add more milk if needed.
4. Add vanilla.
