Frosted Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • Cookies:
  • 1 C Butter (Softened)
  • 3/4 C Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 1/2 C Flour
  • 1 tsp Cream of Tartar
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • Raspberry Jam (Center of Cookie)
  • Icing:
  • 1 Lb Confectioner's Sugar
  • 1/2 C Butter (Softened)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • Milk (Enough to Achieve Spreadable Consistency)

Preparation

Step 1

Combine All Cookie Ingredients. Roll Out on Floured Board. Use Round Cookie Cutter. (I Use a Small Juice Glass for a Smaller Double Cookie). Roll Fairly Thin.

Place on UNGREASED Cookie Sheet.

Bake @ 350 for 10 Mins. DO NOT BROWN. Cool.

Combine All Frosting Ingredients & Mix Well. You Will Use Only 1/2 of this Frosting for the Cookies. You can Store to Use Elsewhere. Spread Jam Between 2 Cookies. Spread a Light Layer of Icing on Top & Place colored Sugars on the Very Top. Store in Air-Tight Container. Enjoy
