Turkey or Chicken Pot Pie

Ingredients

  • Turkey Filling
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup Bisquick
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 4 cups cut-up cooked turkey or chicken
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 10 oz bag of mix vegetables
  • Pot Pie Top
  • 2 cups Bisquick
  • 2 tbsp. shortening
  • 1/3 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

Cook and stir onion in butter in large saucepan until tender. Blend in baking mix, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring until mixture is bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute.

Prepare Turkey Filling. Pour into ungreased baking dish, 11x71/2x1 1/2 inches. Stir remaining ingredient to a soft dough. Gently smooth dough into a ball on floured cloth-covered board. Knead 5 times. Roll dough into a rectangle. Cut 2 or 3 slits in center and place over hot filling. Bake at 450 degress for15 minutes. Makes four servings.
