Kim's Favorite


This was given to me as a recipe for short ribs but there is so much waste to them, I buy nice sized chuck roast and cut it up.

  • 3 to 4 lb chuck roast, cut into chunks
  • 1 14 oz bottle ketchup
  • 1/2 box brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 tblsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice


Servings 6


Step 1

Bake chunks of meat in a large pan with enough water to come half way up the meat uncovered at 350 for 2 hours. Meanwhile, combine the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes on low and when meat comes out of the oven, drain meat and combine with sauce to serve.
