Preparation
Step 1
Mix soy sauce, chopped scallions, garlic, sesame oil and seeds, pepper and sugar together well to make seasoning mix. Set aside.
Put 2 or 3 pieces of scallion on a skewer in a crosswise arrangement of slices, then the steak, then a mushroom and repeat 4 times to cover the skewer. Scallion, steak, mushroom in that order. Soak each skewer in the seasoning for 1/2 hour, turning it over once during this process.
The skewers may be cooked over charcoal (which is preferable), but a gas or electric grill may be used. Cook for about 5 minutes to be sure the meat is done.
Serve warm with rice, kimchi and your other favorite Korean side dishes.
