BUTTERMILK PIE

This is so delicious. Not exactly diet friendly. lol Inexpensive and easy to put together and bake. I worked in a tea room many years ago. We used this same recipe. It was the #1 most popular best seller of all the deserts we served.
Ingredients
- 1 (9") unbaked pie crust
- 1/2 c buttermilk
- 1 3/4 c sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tbsp flour
- pinch of salt
- 1 stick butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- nutmeg

Step 1
Preheat oven to 400°. Mix everything together and pour into an unbaked 9" pieshell. Sprinkle the top lightly with nutmeg. Bake 15 min. Reduce oven to 350° and bake 45 min. Cool to allow filling to set.
This is a custart type of pie. To test for doneness simply insert a metal knife in the center of the pie. If it comes up clean, the pie is done. :)
