Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs. round steak
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
- 1 1/2 cups onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3/4 tsp. oregano
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 cube beef bouillon
- 1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
- 3 whole green bell peppers
- 2 tomatoes, skinned, cut in 8 pieces

Step 1
Cut meat in 2" x 2" pieces. Dredge in flour, salt and pepper. Cook over moderate heat in shortening until evenly browned.
Add onion, garlic, oregano, water, soy sauce and bouillon cube. Cook over low heat for 1 1/4 hours; add worcestershire and cook for 5 minutes.
Thicken gravy if too thin. 10 minutes before - add green pepper; 5 minutes before - add tomatoes. Heat 4 to 5 minutes.
Serve over steamed rice.
